On November 6 the late Imperial Governor General re-
quested the Hongkong Government, in terms of sub-section f
of Article 7 of the draft Working Agreement arranged bet-
ween the Directorate General of the Imperial Chinese Rail-
ways and the Colonial Government, to suspend the through
running of bruins on the Canton-Kowloon Railway from 1 p.m.
on November 7 until 1 p.m. on November 12, His Excellency
guaranteeing to muke good the daily loss in earnings in
tems of the auid Agreumont. An identic telegram was sent
to Sir F.D.Lugara on November 7 by the Yu Ch'uan Pu.
Owing to the disturbed state, consequent on the
Revolution, of the districts through which the line rans
it was not possible to resume through traffic until
Sir John Jordan, G.C.I.E, K.C.B, K.C.M.G,
etc.
